About

Can’t think why you’d really want to know about me.

Tech geek type, bit of a polymath (go look it up if you don’t know what that is — oh, alright, you can find it here).  Engineering background in the aircraft industry, then a software developer (programmer/analyst, system analyst) and IT project manager before becoming a manager of customer service (ended up searching for a new position due to a re-org there).  Currently back to being a Project Manager, this time in the Professional Services Organization of a small but fast growing eLearning software and services company.

Lived in France for four years (plus an earlier 8 month stint spent commuting between Canada, France and the US for a global SAP project).  Polished up my primary and secondary school (ici au Canada, nous sommes un pays bilingue — en principe) French skills there; pretty much bilingual now, though a bit rusty at speaking, since I don’t get much chance to practice these days — comprehension is still good, as we subscribe to and regularly watch a number of French language channels, both from Québec and France, via satellite.

In a nutshell: I like to help people, solve problems and things like that. Enjoy cars, motorsports, archery (target), technology and travel — not necessarily in that order.

There, now you know about me.

    Hi Rob,

I’m trying to put the face to the name as I know more than one Rob.

Did you once work for a potato chip concern and move to France?

Did you once sell jewels rare and fine in downtown Toronto?

Can’t do the Podcasters Across Borders meet. I have limited mobility but I wish you and K the joy of it.

I do get out to Sitch ‘n Bitch every week and EMCC every 6 weeks.

    All the best, Sonia

    Hi Sonia,

I’m the first one, ex-potato chip company and lived in France for a time. Both are in the past now.

Sorry to hear of your mobility challenges, though from the looks of your web pages it doesn’t keep you down too much!

    Best wishes,

    Rob
