Creeeak. Pardon me a moment while I blow the dust off the ol’ blog. It’s been languishing a while now.

But a post today by a friend, Maureen Blaseckie (whose blog A Sudden Alarm of Donkeys you really should subscribe to – she’s a much better writer than I ever will be; trust me, you’ll enjoy her writing), has provided an incentive, in the form of a goal, that may get me back to blogging more regularly.

Moe (as she’s known) started the A-Z Challenge today – more fully titled the “Blogging From A to Z April Challenge 2011“.  Basically, the premise is to blog every day during April 2011, Sundays excepted, which magically totals 26 posts – one for each letter of the alphabet, starting today with A and, well, as you’ve likely guessed by now, ending with Z (and that’s zed, not zee – at least on this blog 🙂 ) on the 30th.

So, into the breach…

Attempt – as someone slightly more wrinkled and brown than I has said: “Do, or do not. There is no try.”  Which is what entering the challenge should not be, an attempt, that is.  Either do it, all 26 days/letters, or don’t do it.  Easy-peasey, really.  At least it should be – surely I can find something, even trivial, to write about each day (save Sundays… going to need those days of rest to make it through).

So there it is, the first post towards the challenge.  Nothing pithy, it won’t solve the world’s problems but it’s a start.  Let’s see, next up Letter B.

I thought he was slightly older and green…but that could just be the colour shift after so many years…old celluloid does do that.
Looking forward to the rest of the alphabet…

Mom always said, “don’t try, just do”. Try is such a weak word don’t you think?
good start for a-z….don’t give up now
